Question 3

Do I need to be a licensed realtor?

Accepted Answer

No, you don't need any license or real estate experience. SaveOnYourHome is specifically designed for homeowners who want to sell their property themselves. We provide all the guidance and tools you need.

Question 4

We serve homeowners and buyers nationwide. Sellers can list properties anywhere in the United States, and buyers can search across every metro area we cover.

Question 5

How much does it cost to list my property?

Accepted Answer

Our basic listing is completely FREE forever. We don't charge commissions or fees. Optional premium packages are available for additional marketing exposure.

Question 6

Are there any hidden fees?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely not. We believe in complete transparency. Our free listing is truly free with no hidden charges. Premium features are clearly priced upfront.

Question 7

How much money can I save by selling FSBO?

Accepted Answer

Traditional commissions run about 6% of your home's sale price. On a $750,000 home, that's $45,000. By selling with SaveOnYourHome, owners increase their profits while buyers can simultaneously reduce their costs.

Question 8

Do I need to offer a buyer's agent commission?

Accepted Answer

No. You are not required to offer a buyer's agent commission, and we recommend you do not pre-commit to one in your listing description.

Your goal is to net the most money from the sale of your home. The best outcome is a buyer with no agent who finds your home, makes a strong offer, and you accept it with zero commission owed. That is the maximum-equity outcome.

If a buyer's agent brings you an offer that, even with their commission baked in, still nets you more than any other offer you have received, you are free to accept it. That is also a great outcome.

What we recommend against is pre-committing to a 2.5 to 3 percent buyer's agent commission in your listing description before any offer has arrived. NAR's settlement-related practice changes took effect on August 17, 2024. Under those changes, MLS participants working with buyers must enter into written buyer agreements before touring a home. Offers of broker compensation are no longer displayed on an MLS, but compensation can still be negotiated off the MLS. Broker fees and commissions remain negotiable. You, the seller, get to evaluate each offer on its net-to-you basis when it actually arrives. Compare offers on the only metric that matters, which is what you take home at closing, and take the best one.

Question 9

How long does my listing stay active?

Accepted Answer

Your listing stays active until you sell your property or choose to remove it. No time limits on free listings.

Question 10

Can I edit my listing after it's published?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You have complete control and can update details, change photos, adjust pricing, or modify any information at any time through your dashboard.

Question 11

What photos should I include?

Accepted Answer

Include at least 10-15 high-quality photos showing exterior views, all main rooms, kitchen, bathrooms, special features, and outdoor spaces. We also offer professional photography services.

Question 12

Will my listing get exposure to buyers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your listing on SaveOnYourHome.com receives maximum exposure to potential buyers. Share your listing on social media, order a professional yard sign, and connect directly with interested buyers.

Question 13

How do buyers contact me?

Accepted Answer

Buyers can contact you directly through the contact form on your listing. You'll receive inquiries via email or through our messaging system. No agents will intercept your communication.

Question 14

Can I schedule and conduct showings myself?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You have complete control over showings. Schedule them at times that work for you. Many sellers find this gives them the opportunity to highlight their home's best features directly.

Question 15

What happens when I receive an offer?

Accepted Answer

You can review it and choose to accept, reject, or counter. We recommend consulting a real estate attorney to review offers and assist with negotiations.

Question 16

How long does it take to sell a FSBO property?

Accepted Answer

Properties priced competitively typically sell within 30-90 days. Proper pricing, good photos, and being responsive to inquiries are key to a faster sale.

Question 17

What paperwork do I need?

Accepted Answer

You'll need a purchase agreement, seller's disclosure form, title documents, and closing documents. We recommend consulting a real estate attorney for your state requirements.
